MADDALO GROUP is a farm situated in Bellizzi ( Salerno) , in the beautiful agricultural area of South Italy. We are producers of baby leaves and supply our salads all over Europe, but we could also on request pack in trays, carton boxes or polystyrene. We have a long agricultural tradition that dates for the last generation more than ten years, in fact Mr. Marcello Maddalo operates in this sector since the eighties. The company was born with the desire to create a business through a commercial structure, so that the process of marketing of the agricultural food production, in particular cut leaf vegetables destined to the 1st and 4th range. MADDALO GROUP is certified GLOBAL GAP and all the farms are managed by a Quality Management System to meet the needs of all our customers. The products leave the field according to the following directions written on the adhesive label: Description of the product, variety, batch, packaging type, seeding date/ week, harvest date and weight, with this system we guarantee the complete traceability of the product. The field operations are managed through the use of a software GTP. Agri. that allows us the full monitoring of the production from the seeding to the delivery of the product to our customer. We can guarantee a better shelf life through the use of the Vacuum Cooler ( a quick cooling chamber) ; a quick cooling of the vegetables reduces the enzyme oxidation and the degradation action of microorganisms, avoiding the wither and the fermentation of the vegetables. After this process the products are stored and loaded in refrigerated rooms to ensure the cold chain. Important functions such as controlling the quality of the productions are organized directly by the Groupâ € ™ s technicians. The raw materials are directly produced by the companies of the Group in particular: Baby leaf salad crops ( Batavie) / Baby Spinach/ Arugula-Wild Rocket / Lambâ € ™ s lettuce/ Red chard-Bull' s blood ( Chards) / Oriental Green ( Mizuna/ Tatsoi) / and during summer time Basil, Melons and Watermelons Our farms buy only certified GMO free seeds. In the varieties of seeds chosen is always considered what is expressly required by our customers, in relation to the qualitative standard ( taste, aspect, conservation and resistance to diseases) , environmental impact, minimal dependence on pesticides. We continue to research for the best quality, for this aim we have identified, quantified and made available the necessary resources as infrastructure, human resources, work environment, processes related to the customer, monitoring and measurement, preventive and corrective actions. The companies are located in agricultural sites suitable for the production because far from sources of possible environmental contamination.
